Spring Trends As Determined By Neiman Marcus

From edgy backpacks to soft pink hues, this spring season will bear a variety of looks. Whether you're spending spring break at the beach or at the mall, these trends can be incorporated into your everyday wardrobe. Keep these lovely looks in mind for they will smoothly and effortlessly transition you out of the heavy winter snow and into the sweet spring breezes.

   1. Artistic Prints: This can be anything from flowers to splattered paint patterns. Some brands that are following this trend are Alice + Olivia, Free People, and Rebecca Minkoff. Patterns of the sort will be seen on everything from shoes to pants to bags.

     2. Pinks: Clashing shades of a certain color is usually frowned upon by most people; however, this spring season, designers are embracing this previously overlooked idea. Vince, Haute Hippie, and Joie are a few of the designers that have done this look justice.

     3. The Pink Lip: Makeup is an essential part of my morning routine, and I imagine that it is for millions of women out there. Luckily for us, Neiman Marcus hasn't forgotten about this part of an outfit. I own a few shades of pink lipstick so I've already hopped onto this bandwagon. MAC, Chanel, and Aerin have released beautiful lipsticks to go with this trend.

     4. Summer Booties: This trend can mean one of two things: the body or the shoe. Personally, I'm trying to get both, but so far with no avail. For the time being, I'm going to try to stick to the fashion aspect of this list. Sam Edelman, Pour la Victoire, and Michael Kors  have all made super cute booties for this spring season.

     5. Short Stories: Being that I live in the south, anything short is a wardrobe staple. Whether it's a pair of pool shorts or a crop top you'd wear to dinner, be sure to keep them handy because you will definitely be needing them this spring. LaMarque, Helmut Lang, and Parker have mastered this look with beautiful pieces.

     6. White With Black: We've all heard of the black and white trend, but this spring, the white dominates. Addison, Milly, and Elizabeth and James are a few of the designers that have created unique pieces that make this trend so easy to love and follow.

     7. Layered Bracelets: This simple trend can take any outfit from girly and cute to edgy and fierce. Previously, the style was to layer small and simple bracelets. This year, the motto is to go big or go home. So, the bigger the bracelet, the better. Nakamol, Rosena Sammi, and House of Harlow have created some super cute bangles and cuffs that are both chunky and slick.

     8. Shirt Chic: A classy, collared button-down is a timeless piece that belongs in every closet. Whether wearing one to work or to a beach resort, this shirt will both keep you cool and make you look extra stylish. Equipment, Robert Rodriguez, and Frank & Eileen are a few of the designers that have mastered the art of making the perfect shirt to wear on any occasion.

     9. Denim on Denim: Maison Scotch, Current/Elliott, and Paige Denim are a few denim focused brands that have brought their product to the table for years. It's safe to say that they know what they're doing when it comes to jeans. From overalls to patches of denim sewn onto anything, this trend brings us rustic, outdoorsy looks and urban dweller looks.

     10. Backpacks: This bag is no longer a thing of the past. Designers everywhere have been inspired by the bag that was once to be worn solely to school. Backpacks are quite spacious and practical which make them even better for spring break travels. Marc Jacobs, Frye, and Phillip Lim are just a few of the designers that have refined the backpack and made it way more stylish than it was in school.
